The Bach Flower Remedies is a simple system of emotional healing that is easy for anyone to use. It is a system of 38 Flower Remedies that corrects emotional imbalances where negative emotions are replaced with positive. The remedies can be used alone or in conjunction with others. Practitioners are trained to create custom formulas. They can be used with children and pets as well.

Below are some examples of flower essences and the conditions they may be used for:

  • Rescue Remedy – This is one of Dr. Bach’s standard remedies. It is used to reduce stress, anxiety and acting out in a child. It is composed of Cherry Plum, Clematis, Impatiens, Star of Bethlehem and Rock Rose. There is an alcohol-free formula available.
  • Clematis – This flower is used in a remedy designed to restore focus and stop mental concentration issues in children. The Daydream Remedy may help children to find academic success.
  • Hornbeam – This is another essence used to help with mental focus. It is not available in an alcohol-free base.
  • Impatiens – As you would guess, it helps with children who are impatient or easily irritated.
  • Larch – This flower essence can help boost confidence in children who are easily discouraged, lack self-esteem or lack a feeling of value in themselves.

What are Bach Flower Remedies?

The original Bach Flower Remedies is a safe and natural method of healing discovered by Dr. Bach from 1920 – 1930’s in England. They gently restore the balance between mind and body by casting out negative emotions such as fear, worry, hatred and indecision which interfere with the equilibrium of the being as a whole. The Bach Flower Remedies allow peace and happiness to return to the sufferer so that the body is free to heal itself. The Bach Flower Remedies are made from wild flowers and are safe for the whole family including pets.

Who was Dr. Edward Bach?
Dr. Edward Bach was a British Physician, who began to see disease as an end product, a final stage, a physical manifestation of unhappiness, fear and worry. He therefore, began to look to nature to find healing flowers. Over a period of years Dr. Bach found 38 healing flowers and plants that with the right preparation became the 38 Bach Flower Remedies. These remedies are enough to remove all negative emotional problems.

How do the Remedies Work?
The Bach Flower Remedies is a safe and natural method of healing. They gently restore the balance between mind and body by casting out negative emotions such as fear, worry, hatred and indecision which interfere with the equilibrium of the being as a whole. The Bach Flower Remedies allow peace and happiness to return to the sufferer so that the body is free to heal itself.

How are the Bach Flower Remedies Made?
The Bach Flower Remedies are made 100% naturally from spring water infused with wild flowers, either by the sun-steeped method or by boiling. The Remedies are hand produced exclusively in England. The Remedies contain 27% grape based brandy as a preservative. Or the alcohol free versions are preserved in glycerin made from sunflowers.

Benefits to Children
Children are smaller versions of us. They can also benefit from homeopathic remedies. Because it is diluted, the same dose that is given to adults is also given to children. There are no toxic substances used so side effects are rare.

Because Bach flower remedies are used mostly to affect emotional states in an individual, they can be used for children with learning difficulties and other emotional issues. Depending on the child’s symptoms, a trained Bach flower practitioner can recommend one of his standard remedies or create a custom formula based on Dr. Bach's discoveries for different plants.

Since Bach flower remedies are made with alcohol, this has been a concern with parents. However, because of the dilution sequence, there is very little alcohol present to affect the child. For some remedies, there are alcohol-free versions.
